My Jewellery

I call my jewellery "Sea Charms" since it is all inspired by the dramatic coastline where mountains meet the sea. I started by collecting seaglass, shells and pebbles on beaches in the Shieldaig area. I then got into silver.....
I use precious metal clay to make my jewellery. Precious metal clay is a mix of recycled and mined silver, clay binder and water. Once fashioned I fire it with a blow torch to about 800 degC and it turns to solid fine silver = 99.9% pure silver. Magic! (Sterling is 92.5%). I then finish it by brushing and polishing.
My current collection consists of all different kinds of fine silver shells including cockles, mussels, venus clams and sea urchins and leaves found on trees close to the shore.
